• Review the progress of order placement and timely receipt of new machines.
• Plan the manufacturing sequence of complex equipments. Wherever required, he will himself and/or with the help of Design dept., design jigs and fixtures required to make the equipments.
• Design fixtures to control welding distortions during fabrication along with the welding engineering department.
• Identify, along with Head- Mfg, areas for automation in manufacturing activities, wherever possible and needed. He will also work with other departments/vendors to design and implement the automation. He will be required to justify the need for automation, returns on investment etc.
• Carryout the work and motion study, to look at the inefficiencies in manufacturing operations. He will then be required to suggest improvements.
• Set production norms, wherever possible. He will also find out the industry benchmarks.
